Larry Stebbins’ real estate career took off in Marin County and San Francisco, California. Starting with buying and remodeling homes, Larry quickly showcased a talent for renovation, mastering many trade skills along the way. His natural aptitude led him to become a licensed real estate agent, where he shared his vision and passion with clients. His dedication paid off, earning him recognition as one of the top 25 real estate agents in San Francisco. Over the years, he expanded his career by becoming a licensed broker, managing broker, and eventually the sole owner of Herth Real Estate, which was the largest independent and gay-owned residential brokerage in San Francisco at the time. Under his leadership, Herth Real Estate grew to include 70 agents, with offices spanning across San Francisco, Sonoma County, and Palm Springs.
In 2012, Larry and his husband, Adrian Toscano, took their passion for real estate to the next level by acquiring the exclusive, master franchise of Sotheby’s International Realty for the Mexican states of Guanajuato and Querétaro. The pair created a premier real estate brokerage in San Miguel de Allende and Querétaro, establishing their business as a dominant player in the market.
Their firm, Agave Sotheby’s International Realty, built a reputation for excellence. With a team of 25 bilingual and bicultural professionals, the company quickly became the market leader in San Miguel de Allende, particularly in the luxury home sector.
Succession and Legacy
In 2024, Larry Stebbins and Adrian Toscano initiated a thoughtful succession plan for Agave Sotheby’s International Realty. Entrusting the company to Ezra and Sheryl Clark, who had been with the firm since 2017, Larry and Adrian ensured that the company’s legacy and reputation would remain intact. Under the new branding of San Miguel Sotheby’s International Realty, Ezra and Sheryl have committed to upholding the standards of excellence the company is known for, while also pushing for growth and innovation in the service of their clients. They aim to build on the solid foundation laid by Larry and Adrian, ensuring a seamless transition and future success for the brokerage.
